ODE TO THE GROOM

Ode2Groom.png
  • Now let us sing to praise our God
  • for all the manly things,
  • for the laugh that’s bass,
  • for the lofty view,
  • for the headlong juggernaut moves;
  • for taking up large spaces
  • and yearning toward new thrills
  • on the pinnacles of mountains
  • while we favor soft, gold hills.
  • Give praise for impulse, shouts and clanging,
  • and raucous shaggy dogs,
  • for crazy dreams and steadfast plans,
  • for mischief and for puns.
  • And also for the quiet within,
  • that listens, learns and feels,
  • for the spot that knows and cherishes
  • the dark side of the wheel.
  • Let’s cheer for all that balances
  • our yin side of the Tao,
  • for the glory of the daylight
  • as beautiful as night, and for its source
  • that warmly shares the heavens with the moon.
  • Praise God in all Her wisdom
  • for setting us to share,
  • to meld and grow and celebrate
  • the wonder of the pair.
